Alysoun has drawn since childhood.  She studied Geography at university and her painting is inspired by her love of the countryside.  She works almost entirely in watercolour which she took up in 1981 inspired by a colleague. 
 

Alysoun has lived in Kenya, which has inspired her work.  She seeks to capture light and colour and enjoys painting old buildings, churches, boats, sheep and other subjects, found in the landscape.

She paints regularly with a small group in Basingstoke and newly retired wants to devote more time to developing her art.
