Demonstrations and workshops are held at:

Demonstrations start at 2.30pm and they are free to members, guests are charged a £5 entry fee.
Workshops are open to members only and are usually all day, full details are sent to participants once payment is received. Workshops are confirmed once the minimum number of attendees has been reached. Prices are from £40.

Melissa Wishart: Oil Seascape
Melissa Wishart was born and raised in Bermuda before she settled in the UK. She is an artist known for her expressive landscapes and figurative work. Her art spans oil, acrylic, clay sculpture and multimedia often exploring light, nature and human connection.

Melissa exhibits widely, including at the Mall Galleries London and has won the Vera Skinner Prize 2022.

Nick Stewart: Ink Landscape
Since early 2015 Nick has engaged in a personal project of pioneering and re imagining fountain pen ink, using ink chromatography and bleach alchemy. There will be an opportunity to try out this technique after the demonstration.

Paul Oakley - Oil Landscape
Paul works in Wiltshire, specialising in oil landscape painting, with occasional still life. He draws strong stylistic influence from Edward Seago and contemporaries.
Teaching and learning are core to his practice: he offers demonstrations, workshops, talks and online lessons for beginners through to advanced students.

Chris Forsey: Mixed Media
Elected as a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Society of Graphic Fine Artists in 2010, awarded prestigious honours such as the Donald Blake Award and the Matt Bruce Memorial Award at the RI exhibitions.

For over 20 years Chris has been a dedicated tutor. He runs painting courses and holidays across the UK and Europe, holds lively demos and contributes regularly to The Artist Magazine. He is also known for several instructional DVDs and books on mixed media land and seascapes.

Soraya French: Mixed Media Flowers
Soraya is a British-based contemporary artist, author and tutor know for her vibrant mixed media and acrylic paintings. She is President of the Society of Women Artists and Andover Art Society and has won numerous awards including the Daler-Rowney Choice Award (SWA) and the Artist of the Year at the Artist and Illustrators exhibition.

Soraya's approach to flower painting is loose and expressive, drawing inspiration from the stunning colours and textures of nature and pushing them towards abstraction.

Soraya French: Mixed Media
In this workshop Soraya will guide artists in creating expressive seascapes rich in tactile texture, life and energy using mixed media. She will explore key elements such as composition, texture, colour and use of semi abstract passages to bring depth and movement to the painting. Beginning with a demonstration to share techniques and approaches followed by plenty of one-to one tuition.

Joan Crawford: Mixed Media Abstract
Joan is an abstract and mixed media artist know for her expressive, intuitive paintings. Her work explores the interplay of light, structure and texture often inspired by natural landscapes.Using layered materials and dynamic mark making, Joan creates emotionally resonant compositions. Her process begins with spontaneity, evolving through careful refinement.
She believes art should engage, provoke and sooth the viewer. Come along for a conversation and demonstration with Joan.

Julian Routledge: Acrylic Birds
Jules is a visual artist specializing in acrylic paintings
of birds and expressive portraits.
For this demonstration, he is focusing on birds,
capturing their character and movement.
Painting since childhood, Jules is now devoting more
time to his art than his career as a Creative Director.
His work reflects a deep appreciation for form, detail,
and storytelling through brushwork.

Wendy Barratt: Charcoal Portrait
Wendy is a British Portrait artist celebrated for her emotionally resonant oil paintings and life drawings.
In 2023, Wendy won the Sky Arts Portrait of the Year, her commission portrait was of Dame Jane Goodall which now hangs in the National Portrait Gallery. She has exhibited with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and in early 2024 was elected a member of the Contemporary British Portrait Painters.
Based in East Sussex, Wendy shares her expertise as a drawing and painting tutor, helping others develop their expressive observational skills.

Kevin Scully: Gouache Still Life

OAG Annual Exhibition 2026
The 2026 exhibition will be open for two full days (Saturday and Sunday) as well as having a Private View on Friday evening. We intend to once again join Hampshire Open Studios and the Odiham Art Trail so there’ll be lots of wonderful artwork to see.
