As part of a Teacher Training course many moons ago, I was able to create photographic sculptures, woodwork , needlework designs but never paintings! After 40+ years teaching and raising a family, retirement afforded the time to remedy this and to explore watercolour, oils and acrylics, the latter  being my preferred medium.

 Each subject matter seems to suggest using different approaches, both in style and technique, which is always exciting and interesting. I am now studying portraiture and enjoying the challenge of capturing a sitter’s personality, as well as exploring charcoal as a new medium.
