Painting is a hobby I took up on retirement.

I paint in oils and my preferred subjects are portraits, landscapes and still life. I especially enjoy painting jazz musicians, as it’s a subject that relates to another retirement hobby of mine, playing the trumpet in jazz and swing bands.

I have exhibited my work in various local venues and have undertaken a number of commissions over recent years. Probably my most unusual art achievement was to have my portrait of blues guitarist and singer, BB King, published in a recent book in North America titled “Blue”.
