Sherry lives in North Hampshire  and paints atmospheric landscapes  based on observation of the natural environment.

 

 She explores the local landscape on foot and in paint with her  studio assistant Sunshine (her  Golden retriever). They walk every day and  observe how time, weather, and seasonal change, transform the landscape. The power of nature constantly fills her with awe and wonder.

 

During the darker months of the year the sense of peace waiting for the sun to rise is an intense experience. There is a thrilling sensuality in natural textures, shadows and reflections caused by dramatic seasonal change and wild sunrises/sunsets.

Her abstracted landscape paintings are not of places but about places  her aim is to capture atmosphere.
