Ann Grigg

 Ann has drawn or painted since childhood either to keep herself occupied or to satisfy that urge that all artists have to create. Art became an important part of her life when a kind teacher told her she had an amazing gift. It is incredible what a few words of encouragement can do! Having recently taken early retirement Ann has made art her entire focus.

She prefers to capture nature and all of its flora and fauna, but takes pet portrait commissions and often paints a subject or scene that captures her imagination. She works mainly in soft pastel and pastel pencils because the soft textures and rich colours lend themselves to fur and feathers. Her pastels paintings are built up in layers with the finer pastel pencils enabling her to accomplish the detail and realism she loves.
